Braided Scarf Bun

I love Lilith Moon's videos! She is such a sweet person and a wonderful communicator~ and she has such great ideas for styling hair.

Here is one of the looks I learned from her~ a braided scarf bun:

Back-and-Forth Braided Updo

Hmmm....the LHC (Long Hair Community) must still be having server problems...

Some friends there were hoping I would still upload new hair pictures to the LHC as well as here, but after an hour of trying I still can't get my new thread to post!  I guess I'll have to give it some time and hope that all my followers from the LHC make their way here :-)

Enough of that...now for some hair pictures!

Back-and-Forth Braided Updo

On Sunday I started out making a simple braided headband, but ended up carrying the braid back and forth until I ran out of hair to add to the braid.  (I was braiding with the lace-braid technique, like a French braid but I only added hair to one side.)  I braided the length of my hair and put it in a horizontal bun.  I wanted to keep the over-all back-and-forth look going even in the bun.  Here are some pictures~ I hope you can see what I'm talking about~ my explanations can get muddled sometimes!

On another note, I'm so glad to live in a place that has year-round summer weather!  The tree I'm standing in front of is called "pwanang" in the local language, although I've heard that other places call it "King of Perfume."  And that is exactly what it is!  I'll have to post pictures of the flowers later.  They are little green star-like flowers with the most beautiful smell...

Thanks for coming by and checking out my new post!  Feel free to share my address with your friends who would like to follow me, too.

Merry Christmas from Wimsey and me :-)

Double Rose Buns

If one is good, two are even better!

I've found that double buns are a great way to distribute the weight of my hair.  And this hairstyle is so easy and fast~ just section your hair, make a bun with the top section and another with the bottom section, and you're done!

Braided Mohawk~ my look for today

Merry Christmas!

Today I went to town to do some Christmas shopping.  Since I needed to get ready in a hurry, I chose the hairstyle that is so quick and easy yet looks like I took the time to fix my hair. No matter I was rushing out the door, I still managed to get a few hair pictures:

Now, I know this is supposed to be a blog about hair, but I just have to include some pictures of my Mustang. Don't you love the pink racing stripes? (And yes, I live in a place where it's summer-time all year round. I'm so glad!)

Wimsey wanted to go for a ride.  He couldn't understand why I had left him home this morning.

Thanks for looking!  Christmas is a week from today~ I hope you're enjoying this special time of the year.

French braided mohawk with side accent braids

I came across this picture on the internet, and wanted to try it out:

Here are some pictures of my first attempt~ since then this has become a go-to hairstyle for me. I don't always do the accent braids, but they add a nice touch when you have a few extra minutes. Be prepared for a lot of pictures! I think I have them from every possible angle...

A favorite of mine~ Hearts and Flowers Hairstyle

Hearts and Flowers Hairstyle

This is one of my personal favorites~ a friend sent me these cute flower clips, so I added them as accents to my braided hearts.  I put the length of my hair into a side braided bun. My little dog Wimsey liked it!

Rope Braid & Rose Bun Hairstyle

For my first post~ Rope and Rose Hairstyle

Hi everybody!

I'm arc691 from the LHC's "Mane Forum."  I have always had long hair, even when I was a little girl.  My hair just seems to grow fast!  I do keep it trimmed so that it looks even across the bottom~ I prefer an even-look to fairy-tale ends.  Right now, my hair is around ankle-length.  A few years ago I had fallen into a rut hairstyle-wise and Googled "hairstyles for super long hair."  That was when I first discovered the Long Hair Community and Lilith Moon's YouTube tutorials.  Since that time, I have learned to enjoy my long hair so much more and love trying out new ideas.

I have so many hair pictures to post~ it's fun to share them with other people who are also interested in learning new hairstyles or who have super long hair themselves!

Here are a few pictures of a style a friend from the LHC called my "rope-and-rose" look.  Thank you for dropping by!

Rope and Rose Hairstyle

To create this look, I made a lace-style rope braid on the left side of my head. Then I put my hair in a low ponytail on the right side and braided the length of my hair into a rope braid which I then wound up into a rose bun.  I held my bun in place with a pretty butterfly clip that I bought locally.
