Just as good the second day...Dutch Braids

Hi everyone,

I love it when your braids look just as good the next day...it makes getting ready in the morning so quick and easy!  I used my Dutch braids from the day before and added a new braided bun, this time held in place with one big hair clip and a few bobby pins.

Dutch Christmas Braids

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Today I wanted to make a star-themed hairstyle, but I ended up making these three Dutch braids with a braided bun.  My key to keeping my hair up all day: put your hair in a ponytail before making your bun, and when you start your bun add a clip.  Then when your hair is all wrapped up, add your next clip to the outside of your bun.  This "one clip in and one clip out" trick always works for me.

Thanksgiving Day Hair'do

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  I hope you had a special day with family and friends.  I wore my new dress with sunflowers, and fixed my hair in Dutch lace braids and a braided bun.

Square Part

Hello all,

Today I tried something new that I saw in my braid book by Raychel Potter, a square part as opposed to a zig-zag part.  I made two lace braids, gathering hair from the inside closest to the center part all the way across to the outermost side by my face.  That is why the braids look more like Dutch braids.  Thank you for visiting my blog!

Double Dutch Braids

Hello friends,

I tried the double Dutch braid look again today, although they are not quite up to Lilith Moon's standards in her Facebook post from today.  The two hair experts that I love to follow are Lilith Moon, of course; and Raychel Potter, author of my favorite braid book ever, A Different Approach to Hairbraiding.  She has a Facebook page as well, https://www.facebook.com/raychelsway, which she keeps updated with inspiring pictures.  So many new ideas to try and techniques to learn!
