Sunny Day Bun

Hi friends,

The sun was shining at just the right angle yesterday afternoon to take hair pictures in the afternoon light.  Basically this is a high bun, but when I added the lower half of my hair I added a section from the right and twisted it around to the left. Then I added the lower left section, twisting it around to the right.  That's what makes my hair look like it's been folded up into place.

Sunday Stars Hairstyle

Hello friends,

     After my fun Halloween posts, here are some pictures of my hairstyle today on the first Sunday of November.  I made little sections all the way around with tiny elastic bands, then I went back and split each little section in two.  I took half of one section and half of the next section and banded them together with another small elastic.  This makes a star-like border to my center bun.  For the bun, I put all my hair that was not in the little sections into a high ponytail and made a cinnamon bun.  I gathered all the tail ends of my tiny elastic sections into another separate ponytail right on top of my bun.  Then I braided that smaller ponytail and wrapped the braid around my bun.  It sounds confusing, but if you look closely at the pictures I think you can see what I am trying to explan :-)

Rope Braids & Flower Chain

Happy Sunday!

     Today I used a new chain hairband that I got at Claire's.  Instead of using it like a regular headband, I put it around my high bun and draped it upside-down behind my bun.  To make this hairstyle, first I made two small lace rope braids.  Then I gathered my hair into a high ponytail and clipped it in place with a small claw clip.  I braided my ponytail into a rope braid which I wrapped up into a high bun.  Next I wrapped the two ends from my lace braids around my bun, pinning them in place with hair clips and bobby pins.  Finally I added my upside-down flower chain headband.

Imperial Bun

Hello everybody,

Thank you so much for following my blog!  I always enjoy getting to share these hair pictures with my friends.  Today my hair was still a little wet from when I washed it last night.  (I don't use a hair dryer on my long hair, just on my bangs. I usually wash my hair with the Condition-Wash-Condition method twice a week.  I'll wash it at night before I go to bed and let it air dry all night long.  I use Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner, and Johnson & Johnson's No More Tears detangling spray as needed when I'm combing my hair out with my big comb.)
     To make this hairstyle, I first made two small lace braids, then swooped my hair up like I was about to make a high ponytail.  But instead of using an elastic, I held my hair in place with a small octopus clip and twisted the length of my "ponytail" into a rope braid which I then wrapped into a high bun.  There is no sock involved, this bun is totally made up of my hair alone.  I like the way the little braids peek through here and there.  I held my bun in place with bobby pins and these three little hair clips.  Then I added my emerald headband as a finishing touch.  One of my favorite hairstyles so far!
