Knotted Headband Braid

Hi everybody,

Today I tried again to do the "take-2-strands-and-knot-them" braid, and I actually managed to make this braid as a headband.  Why is it that knotting 2 strands can be so much harder than braiding four or five strands?  I added the smaller French braid for interest.  Thank you for following my hair posts!

(but more in keeping with the actual temperature here...)

Lace Braid Headband

Hi everybody,

Yesterday I made a poofy lace braid at a headband, then put my hair in a smooth ponytail which I turned into a braided bun.  Headband braids are simple and fun!
     The sky was such a beautiful blue~

French braid headband & bun~ my look for today

Hi everyone,

Today I parted off a section of hair and made a small headband French braid.  I piled my hair into a big bun and held it all in place with hairclips.  Using several clips is my secret to keeping my hair up all day long, no matter what style of bun or updo I have.  I prefer a few clips to a ton of bobby pins!

Blue Waterfall Braid

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my new pictures!  Today I made a headband French braid, then a waterfall braid directly underneath it.  Finally I made a French braid with the rest of my hair plus the hair that was left out of my waterfall braid.  I wrapped all my braid ends up into a side bun, which I held in place with clips and bobby pins.  Side buns can feel awkward sometimes, but I like the way they look.

Messy Herringbone Updo

Happy Sunday!

Today I started out trying out a hairstyle from my braid book, and made a hairband herringbone braid.  It got a little bit messy, but I liked the poof so much I went with it, piled my hair up on top of my head, and created this slightly old-fashioned look.  Thanks so much for looking and commenting!
